Le Bristol Paris - Why We Return

Le Bristol Paris from Wanvela, the suite we prefer, the garden, Restaurant Epicure 3 Michelin, and why we use it as our Paris flagship.

Why Le Bristol

After staying at every major palace hotel in Paris, Le Meurice, The Ritz, Hôtel de Crillon, Plaza Athénée, Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons George V, Wanvela still chooses Le Bristol as our Paris flagship.

The reason is simple: Le Bristol feels the most like home. It isn't the Ritz, a tourist destination in itself. It isn't the Plaza, with Avenue Montaigne's parade outside. Le Bristol sits on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré near the Élysée Palace, quiet, residential, yet a 10-minute walk to Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

The rooms we always book

Le Bristol has 188 rooms. For Wanvela clients we book this category:

  • Deluxe Room (40 sqm) · €1,400–1,800/night, for solo travelers or short-stay couples
  • Junior Suite (55 sqm) · €2,400–2,900, the sweet spot for most clients
  • Garden Suite (110 sqm) · €4,200+, with balcony opening onto the inner garden
  • Panoramic Suite · €8,000+, top floor, Paris rooftops view

Wanvela tip: ask for "garden view" in every category, Le Bristol has a large inner garden you'll find at no other Paris hotel.

Restaurant Epicure - 3 Michelin stars

Chef Eric Frechon has been at Le Bristol since 1999, three Michelin stars since 2009. The dining room is a conservatory inside the 1758 mansion, high ceilings, natural light from the garden.

Wanvela books six weeks ahead for dinner, a nine-course tasting at €420 per guest, wine pairing €280.

"Le Bristol is the only hotel in Paris where I can stay five nights and not get tired, not because it's overdesigned. Because it's underdesigned, in the classy way." - CAN, founder note

Service you won't get elsewhere

  • The hotel has Hubert and Fa-Raon, two lobby cats, which makes it feel like home.
  • The rooftop pool on the 6th floor is built like the deck of a Norwegian ship, Sacré-Cœur view.
  • The La Prairie spa, Wanvela books clients a 90-minute caviar facial before checkout.
  • Le Bristol's concierge can secure Versailles, Drouant, and Sainte-Chapelle tickets when they say "sold out", because of 100-year relationships.

Comparison with other hotels

We choose Le Bristol over:

  • The Ritz, the Coco Chanel suite is genuinely beautiful, but the public areas churn with tourists.
  • Plaza Athénée, Eiffel Tower view is gorgeous, but rooms are small and the lobby is a fashion show.
  • Hôtel de Crillon, Karl Lagerfeld design is striking, but no rooftop and no pool.

Price vs value

Le Bristol is 3–4× more expensive than standard Paris boutiques, but for Paris in 3 days that you'll remember forever, we view it as an investment in memory, not a hotel cost.

Le Bristol appears in Wanvela's France itineraries whenever Paris is the starting or ending point.
