Nordic rule - which embassy?

A typical Wanvela Norway trip is 7 nights Lofoten (Hattvika Lodge) + 2 nights Oslo (Sommerro), apply at Norway embassy.

An Iceland Ring Road trip of 8-10 nights routes through the Royal Danish Embassy in Bangkok, because Iceland has no embassy here and Denmark handles Icelandic visa cases.

Combined Norway + Iceland trips, apply at whichever country has more nights (almost always a near 50/50 split).

VFS Norway in Bangkok

• Hours, by appointment only
• Fee, €90 + Denmark service charge
• Booking, through vfsglobal.com/iceland/thailand (VFS Iceland desk)
• Note, clearly specify trip is entirely in Iceland (not Denmark)

Extra documents Nordic embassies expect

In addition to standard Schengen documents (passport, statement, employer, hotels, flights), Nordic embassies often ask for:

Tips Wanvela has learned

1. Avoid December applications, embassies close for extended periods
2. For combo trips, declare clearly, Norway+Sweden trip should show more than half of nights in Norway
3. Iceland via Denmark takes longer, typically 20-30 days
4. Request Multi-Entry if planning 2 trips, note this on the application
